Who We Are
The Collaborative Center for Social Change (CCSC) is a Kampala-based nonprofit established in 2022 by a group of community advocates and young people from different parts of Uganda. The organization was formed out of a shared desire to take action and contribute to the kind of change communities need and deserve.
Our work is grounded in the belief that real change does not happen in isolation. It grows through relationships built on trust, shared purpose, and a willingness to work together. We focus on creating strong partnerships that bring together communities, nonprofit organizations, government actors, and the wider public.
At CCSC, we value action.
We do not just talk about change, we work alongside others to make it happen. By linking grassroots communities with funders, institutions, and decision makers, we help elevate local voices and ensure that solutions are shaped by the people most affected.
Our Core Foundations
Nurturing Leadership
We support communities by strengthening organizations, nurturing leadership, and opening access to resources and knowledge. Our goal is to create an environment where communities can lead their own development and influence systems.
Equity
Equity is central to how we work. We recognize that people experience challenges differently, and meaningful progress requires attention to those differences. Rather than uniform fixes, we respond to the realities of inequality.
Creative Expression
We see creative expression as an important tool for change. Through art, we support dialogue, storytelling, and community engagement to surface unheard voices while promoting healing, learning, and awareness.
Our Story
Founded in Kampala in 2022, CCSC began with a vision of inclusive communities. Through creativity, leadership, and collaboration, we continue building sustainable change across Uganda and beyond.
Founding in Kampala
Community advocates and youth established CCSC to address inequality and amplify grassroots voices through collaboration and creativity.
Theatre for Change Launched
Youth-led performances began, using storytelling to raise awareness on health, peace, and social justice issues.
Leadership Academy Established
A one-year cohort program started, nurturing leaders with skills in advocacy, civic engagement, and innovation.
Food & Entrepreneurship Program
Climate-smart farming and small business mentorship supported rural families, improving food security and income stability.
Expanding Partnerships
CCSC formed collaborations with schools, NGOs, and institutions, strengthening networks for sustainable social change.
Impact Milestones
500+ youth engaged, 100+ leaders trained, and 1,000+ families reached across three districts, showcasing measurable transformation.
